my whole deal.

Well, hello!

I’m Michelle (chellebelle94 if we know each other from MySpace), and this is me in website form — I hope I come off as impressive and cool!

I’m an Emmy-nominated TV writer, actor, and comedian.

I most recently worked as a writer and producer on CBS’s Late Night Comedy Show, After Midnight. Before that, I wrote on seasons 1 & 2 of ZIWE (A24/Showtime), where I also starred in multiple sketches. I also wrote for season 3 of HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, which earned me an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series (2022).

I was featured as one of Vulture’s Best Up and Coming Comedians — that’s pretty cool, right?

I am legally obligated to disclose that I graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a double major in acting and politics. I will be paying for that degree for the rest of my life — shout out to the now defunct US Department of Education.

business in the front.

I am addicted to SoulCycle. I wrote an entire article about it on my Substack.

Oh yeah! I also have a Substack. It’s called “Sometimes I Just Say Things” and I’d say it’s pretty aptly named.

I use exclamation points a lot. Not sure if it’s a fun personality trait or a crutch — hmm, something to think about.

The only time I feel unbridled joy is when watching the Real Housewives. I wrote about my girls in this article for Betches.

I want to go back to the time when liking The Office was cool and not reserved for straight white men on dating apps. There’s no article for this — just a deeply held dream of mine.
